Copyright Policy

Legal

Last updated: June 17, 2025  ·  sellcodeapp.com

SellCodeApp respects intellectual property rights and expects all users — sellers and buyers — to do the same. This policy outlines our approach to copyright, how to report infringement, and the consequences of violations.

Sellers own their work

Sellers retain full copyright of all products they list. Listing on SellCodeApp does not transfer ownership.

Buyers get a license

Purchasing a product grants a usage license — not ownership or copyright. The original author retains all rights.

Infringement is removed

We act promptly on valid copyright complaints and remove infringing content under the DMCA process.

01

Ownership and copyright

All products listed on SellCodeApp are the intellectual property of their respective creators. Sellers who upload products to SellCodeApp represent and warrant that:

  • They are the original creator of the work, or hold all necessary rights and licenses to sell it
  • The product does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret
  • They have the authority to grant buyers the licenses described in our License Terms

By listing a product, sellers grant SellCodeApp a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, market, and distribute the product through the platform. This does not transfer copyright — sellers retain full ownership of their work.

02

Prohibited content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on SellCodeApp:

Infringing products

  • Code, themes, or assets copied or derived from another person's work without permission
  • Products that include third-party libraries, fonts, or assets under licenses that prohibit resale
  • Clones or near-identical copies of products already sold by another author on SellCodeApp or elsewhere

Misrepresented content

  • Products falsely claiming to be original work
  • Listings that use screenshots, demos, or descriptions from a different product
  • Work attributed to an author who did not create it

Unauthorized redistribution

  • Buyers reselling, redistributing, or sublicensing purchased source code as their own product
  • Uploading purchased products from other marketplaces and relisting them on SellCodeApp

03

DMCA takedown process

If you believe a product listed on SellCodeApp infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. To be valid, your notice must include:

1

Your identity

Your full legal name, email address, and a statement that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

2

Identification of the copyrighted work

A clear description of the original work you claim has been infringed, including a link or reference to the original if available.

3

Identification of the infringing material

The URL or specific location of the product on SellCodeApp that you claim is infringing.

4

Good faith statement

A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

5

Accuracy and signature

A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature.

Send your DMCA notice to: [email protected]

Submitting a false or misleading DMCA claim may expose you to legal liability. Please only submit a notice if you have a genuine, good-faith belief that your copyright has been infringed.

04

Counter-notice process

If you are a seller and believe your product was removed as a result of a mistaken or wrongful DMCA takedown, you may submit a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your full name, email address, and physical address
  • Identification of the product that was removed and its original URL on SellCodeApp
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the product was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable court
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Send your counter-notice to: [email protected]. If valid, the product may be reinstated after the standard waiting period required by law.

05

Repeat infringer policy

SellCodeApp maintains a strict repeat infringer policy in accordance with the DMCA. Users found to have repeatedly infringed the copyrights of others will have their accounts:

  • Suspended from listing or purchasing products
  • Permanently terminated at our sole discretion
  • Reported to relevant authorities where applicable

Pending earnings may be forfeited in cases of verified copyright infringement.
